Choosing a major is a big decision, and one you don’t need to make right away. Our core requirements are designed to provide you with the appropriate time to expand your perspective and either confirm your instincts—or turn you in an entirely new academic direction.
In your first year, we encourage you to test the waters for the majors and potential careers that interest you most. Take advantage of your academic adviser, the Office of Academic Advising (OAA), and the Office of Personal and Career Development (OPCD), attend our Majors and Minors Fair, research majors and minors online, or seek the perspective of alumni who have made a career of the majors you’re considering. Detailed information about requirements for each major can be found in the Undergraduate Bulletin.
And don’t forget to enjoy the journey.
