Your Wake Forest Orientation
Our New Deac Orientation experience for students, has three main parts:
- New Deac 101, an online course, in Canvas that all students will complete in the summer before arriving on campus, summer tasks and assessments. New Deac 101 is expected to launch in mid-July, and you will receive details about how to access the course and when each module will need to be completed. New Deac 101 contains information from more than 30 campus partner offices and will be essential preparation for your time at Wake Forest.
- In-person Orientation activities during Move-In/New Deac Welcome Week. In mid-July, we will publish the New Deac Welcome Week 2023 (aka Orientation) schedule in Guidebook (additional details will be added here in July). There will be a variety of in-person experiences for new and transfer students, as well as your parents/families.
- Fall New Deac orientation. Finally, students will work through an online extended Orientation module during the month of September, aimed to get them well acquainted with academic resources and bystander intervention training. Additional details to be provided late this summer.

You will be sent an email at your WFU email address once the New Deac 101 schedule is available in Guidebook. In late July, you will also be able to see the academic advising activities that will take place after you move in.
