Here’s what you need to know first.

There’s a lot of things to know before you arrive on campus. Here are a few to get you started.

What to Expect Over the Summer

Important practical information about things you will need to be doing over the summer, as well as how to prepare mentally for the adjustment to college.

Move-In Day Preparation

As we get closer to Move-In Day, we will have detailed instructions for where you need to go and how the move-in process works.

Laptops & Software

All students are required to have a laptop. You can purchase one through our WakeWare laptop program, or you can BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) as long as it meets our minimum configuration requirements.

WFU Account & Email Setup

Your WFU Account (username and password) is used to access systems you will use during your time at Wake Forest. Here’s how to activate them.

Pre-Orientation Programs & Registration

Optional programs that allow new students to come to campus a few days before official Move-In to get to know a smaller group of their classmates.

New Deac 101 (Summer Online Orientation)

Our New Deac Orientation experience for students, has three main parts: an online portion over the summer, in-person sessions at Move-In, and an online September portion.

New Student Receptions

A series of receptions for ’27 students and their their families will be held virtually and in person across the country in June, July and August. We hope your family will join us for a virtual reception, and in person (if applicable).

Project Wake

Project Wake allows students to choose a book selected by faculty and staff and read it over the summer; once on campus, there is an in-depth conversation with a faculty or staff leader and other students about what you have read.
