May dates and deadlines

This website contains information for students in the Class of 2025, who started school in August 2021. Information for the Class of 2026, who will begin in August 2022, will be available starting May 1.

Welcome to the Wake Forest family!

The New Students website ( is the central location for all information about required activities for incoming students and their parents/families, as well as Orientation and move-in. This website will be active until the first day of fall classes, then all new parent and family information will be at and will no longer be updated.

Due to the evolving nature of COVID guidelines, we cannot print a First Year Parent and Family Calendar this year. Instead, we have calendar pages for May, June, July, and August with the due dates and deadlines for each month. We’ll also offer a Pro Tip related to that month’s activities.

Pro Tip for May

We ask that families let students fill out their own Housing and Dining Application; it is important that students be honest about their answers to make as successful a roommate match as possible.

Due dates and deadlines for parents and families

May 3: goes live. Visit often throughout the summer, as new information is continually added. Pay special attention to the Parents & Families section.

At your convenience (to prepare for upcoming deadlines)

Complete the Family Record Form – while not due until June 1st, the sooner you complete it, the sooner you will receive all applicable Wake parent and family emails. Be sure to provide your email address, as email is our primary way of communicating with families!

Schedule a COVID vaccine for your student (unless they plan to submit a religious or medical exemption). COVID vaccine documentation is due July 1.

Schedule a physical for your student. The Health Information and Immunization form is due July 1.

Make hotel reservations for Move-in/Orientation and Family Weekend
(October 1-3). Please be aware of the following:

We anticipate a multi-day move-in process for our incoming students; that will likely take place in the August 18-20 timeframe.

Students will be able to schedule their move-in appointment in July (after they receive their housing assignment).

If you make hotel reservations now, be aware that you may need to adjust them once your student’s move-in appointment is confirmed.

Finally, you may want to delay making flight arrangements (if applicable) until your student’s move-in appointment is confirmed.

If your student plans to do a Pre-Orientation program or is a student-athlete, you may also want to wait to get confirmation of their arrival date before making firm travel plans.

Important reminder about the calendar – Use a pencil, not a pen

As we move through the next few months, you may see changes to dates and events due to the University’s response to COVID-19. When making travel plans, please remain flexible and be aware of hotel/airline change policies. Keep visiting the New Students website regularly for the most updated information.
