B.U.I.L.D.

New Wake Forest students in the BUILD pre-orientation program prepare a communal pot luck dinner in the Campus Kitchen space on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.

Building University Inclusion through Leadership and Diversity (B.U.I.L.D.) is a four-day immersion program that introduces first-year students to concepts of leadership, intercultural communication and social change.

Students will have the opportunity to connect with peer mentors, participate in exercises and community-based activities all while they develop leadership skills. With their upper-class mentors, incoming students will consider their role and responsibility as citizens in Winston-Salem, identify social justice themes, and learn more about intercultural communication strategies. Join the Pro Humanitate Institute staff for this fun, interactive introduction to life at Wake Forest and the Winston-Salem community.Students enjoying camp.

B.U.I.L.D accepts students on a rolling basis and is open until filled. Students are accepted in the order that they apply and there is not a waitlist. Specific program details, like the daily schedule, will be available in early August.  Should you have any questions, please reach out to Irving Zavaleta-Jimenez at jimeneiz@nullwfu.edu.
