May 19 email with Orientation information

This past Monday, we at Wake Forest celebrated our most recent graduates and said farewell, until we meet again, as we cheered them on to their next adventure! Now I am excited to write to you, member of the Wake Forest Class of 2021, to extend a hearty welcome from the Office of Academic Advising. I and all the OAA staff  look forward to being in touch with you over the summer and meeting you on August 23 for New Deac Week Orientation! To “meet us”, I invite you to visit our website at

This is the first of several emails I’ll be sending you this summer to provide updates and reminders that are critically important for new students. Remember to check your WFU email regularly for these emails along with emails that you might receive from other offices. And please read each email carefully so you do not miss any critical information! If you can’t read it when it arrives, be sure to bookmark it for later.

The New Student Website ( went live on May 1st! Soon you will receive a book called Forestry 101 in the mail that has the information from this site in book form, with some fun photos and information about WFU spirit and traditions. The exact date of arrival of Forestry 101 is hard to predict, as it varies by location, but most of you who have domestic addresses should have it by the end of the month. Until the book arrives – and for students living at international addresses (who can pick up their book when on campus) – the text of the book is also available in pdf form at The book and the website provide important dates and instructions to prepare you for your transition to Wake Forest. It will be especially important to look over the “Key Dates” section (on the homepage of and on p. 74 of Forestry 101), so that you will be aware of important deadlines.

We know that many of you have connected via social media already. Be sure to follow @WFUOrientation on Twitter, and request to join the official Wake Forest University Class of 2021 Facebook group. Visit to download the WFU Orientation Programs app. You will find the most up-to-date information, including schedules, maps, and much more. On a laptop/desktop computer or unsupported mobile device, visit to access the content in your web browser. Questions regarding Orientation can be directed to

As the summer progresses, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Academic Advising(336.758.3320 or In addition, if you would like to ask questions of a student adviser, you can email
