June 1 Email to Transfer Students

Dear (Name),

I hope this email finds you well! We look forward to your arrival in the fall! Today’s email has information about the WFU marching band and important reminders of some things you need to do in upcoming weeks.

ANYONE PLAY A BAND INSTRUMENT?

The Spirit of the Old Gold and Black Marching Band invites all students interested in membership to join for the 2017-2018 season. If you have previously played a band instrument or participated in a band auxiliary unit, we would love to have you join us this year. Prior marching experience is beneficial but NOT required. For band information e-mail Dr. Kevin Bowen, Director of Bands, at bowenck@nullwfu.edu.

THE FIRST STEPS TO PREPARE FOR FALL

  • By June 9, request that AP and IB scores be submitted to Wake Forest. (The scores do not have to arrive at Wake Forest by this date, but you need to make the request of the College Board or your IB Program Coordinator that they be sent.)  See registrar.wfu.edu/academic/ap for more information.
  • The Foreign Language Placement (FLP) Test: Complete this test for any foreign language you studied in high school, unless you will receive qualifying AP/IB credit. If your native language is not English, you might be exempt. See OAA’s page on the FLP and foreign language exemption for additional information. If you have questions regarding your foreign language transfer credit, please contact the University Registrar at 336.758.5207 or credits@nullwfu.edu.
  • In the coming weeks, one of our academic counselors will contact you directly to assist you with your Fall 2017 schedule. Please be patient as we work to contact all incoming transfer students. Questions regarding your incoming credit and fall schedule will be addressed in this conversation. In order to prepare for this meeting you should review Wake Forest degree requirements. Also be prepared to discuss any major, minor, or pre-professional tracks of interest. For more information on Wake Forest majors and minors, please visit here.
