Wait Chapel – NEW LOCATION. Due to the demand for this program, it will take place in Wait Chapel.
A very well-attended program for parents for twenty-five years!
Sponsored by the University Counseling Center and Student Health Service, this parents-only presentation will focus on topics including: common issues experienced during the college years, child/parent relationship strategies, healthy boundaries, suggestions for maintaining emotional and physical health, and ways to access the numerous support systems available on campus.
Presenters Dr. Joanne Clinch (Student Health Service) and Dr. James Raper (University Counseling Center) will provide both education and opportunities for interactive discussion in an informal and fun atmosphere. In addition there will be a panel of experts from the Division of Student Life available for additional questions from the audience.
UPDATE AUGUST 14:
While registration for the “Just for Parents” program had been closed late last week, due to the overwhelming demand this year, we have been able to change venues and secure Wait Chapel for the program. Any parent of an incoming first-year student who wishes to attend the program will be able to do so. Due to the size of Wait Chapel, we are not requiring additional participants to register. Simply arrive on Thursday, August 22nd and you will be able to be seated. The program will begin at 7:00 pm. Please contact Katie McBroom at with any questions.
