Just a reminder that Family Weekend Registration begins on Monday, July 18th at 10 am.  You can learn more at the Family Weekend website.  Family Weekend is planned by the Office of Student Engagement.

For those of you who are not able to attend a New Student Reception, a Virtual New Student Reception is available online. While it cannot replicate the personal networking between students and among parents, it offers a lot of the same advice that gets covered by staff at the actual receptions.

June 21

While the deadline for the Wilderness to Wake Pre-Orientation program has passed, there are still six other programs available: BUILD, Deacon Camp, SPARC, World Wide Wake, The Summit, and Marching Band.  Applications for those programs, as well as their descriptions, are on the Pre-Orientation programs page.

June 7

While we do not have spare copies of the Forestry 101 manual to send to parents and families, the e-book version is available online for your use.

May 13

As you begin acclimating to the New Students website, we encourage you to bookmark the main Information and Deadlines page and check back frequently to ensure you do not miss key action items or deadlines.  The parent and family deadlines are also contained in a white brochure that is inserted in your student’s Forestry 101 hardback book, so please be sure to get that from your students once Forestry 101 is mailed to students’ home addresses.

New Student Receptions are beginning to be scheduled.  Links to registration sites will be added as full details to events are confirmed, or as new cities are added.  If your city does not have a link to register yet, please check back in coming days.

We encourage interested parents and families to subscribe to the Daily Deac blog, which provides a glimpse of life on campus, as well as events or activities that may be of interest.  Subscribe and have it sent to your email box.
