Follow the excitement of move-in, the joy of learning new traditions and the pride of students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff by using the class of 2017’s hashtag #wfu17 and following along here.
Enter the #wfu17 move-in day Twitter contest!
(It’s as easy as not finding a parking space.)
You’re finally here. You’re excited, overwhelmed with happiness and this feeling’s a little hard to put into words. 140 characters or less ought to do it.
To qualify and enter submit a (move-in day related) tweet with the hashtag #wfu17 and by mentioning @WakeForest1834 any time between 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. on move-in day, August 22. (Use of the emoji is encouraged.) Your account must be public for your tweet(s) to qualify.
We are excited to see your #wfu17 move-in day moments on Twitter. Written words, photos, videos – we want them all. And get creative. Like your new roommate, that new dorm smell or the sight of your parents driving away? Tweet it.
Winning tweets will be featured on the wfu.edu homepage on move-in day. (Celebrity status.)
This contest is open to all Wake Foresters. Are you a bona fide member of #wfu17? Share with us how awesome move-in day is. Parent? Current student? Alumnus/a? Staff or faculty member? The more the merrier.
So get ready. Tweet your best #wfu17 move-in day moments and let the Forest get to know you. We can’t wait to see all of the fun you’re having.
Official jargon: Not only is posting duplicate tweets lame, it violates the Twitter Rules and jeopardizes our contest as a whole (not a strong opening move). And originality counts – while there is no limit to the number of different, individual tweets you may enter, do not post the same (or near-same) tweet multiple times. No profanity either, thanks.
To ensure your entry is received, include both #wfu17 and specifically mention @WakeForest1834 in your tweet(s). Doing a public search of just #wfu17 may not show every tweet. So, if you only include #wfu17 but not @WakeForest1834, we may miss your entry. (Including both #wfu17 and @WakeForest1834 still leaves you with 117 characters to share your move-in day experience. Plenty of space to describe the indescribable.)
